The 2019 Ford Explorer has seating for up to seven people and features lots of power under the hood. It runs on a 3.5L V6 engine with Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT). This efficient engine gets up to 290 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque and can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Inside there's cloth seats and convenient features like a USB port, four 12-volt outlets, and cargo hooks. Plus, there's 60/40 folding seats in the second row and 50/50 folding seats in the back to conveniently load more cargo.
Up front there's a classy leather-wrapped shift knob and a 4.2-inch screen on your dashboard for your Ford SYNC® infotainment system. Here you'll get access to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio and be able to check behind you when you're backing up with the Rear View Camera.
2019 Ford Explorer XLT
The next trim is the 2019 Ford Explorer XLT. It runs on the same 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 engine but offers a more eye-catching appearance. While the previous trim featured black accents, this one shines with a roof rack with a set of silver side rails. Up front it greets you with a silver painted mesh grille with chrome bars, while the sides are lined with chrome bodyside accents.
2019 Ford Explorer Limited
There's a new engine under the hood of our next trim. The 2019 Ford Explorer Limited runs on a 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 engine that gets up to 280 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Inside it adds lots of technology inside to give you a more entertaining ride.
Your infotainment system gets upgraded to the Ford SYNC® 3. On top of a larger 8-inch touchscreen on your dashboard, you'll get turn-by-turn directions from your voice activated navigation system. If you connect your smartphone, you'll also have more entertainment options like Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. You can also stay connected at all times with a convenient Wi-Fi® hotspot built right in.
In this trim the added technology also helps you stay safe with driver assistance features. The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross-Traffic Alert, watches your sides and lets you know when it's safe to change lanes.
All of these added features come wrapped in luxury. The Ford Explorer Limited features leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
2019 Ford Explorer Sport
The 2019 Ford Explorer Sport takes us to our largest and most powerful engine. It uses a 3.5L EcoBoost® that gets an impressive 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. To bolster its added power, there's a bold and stylish quad chrome exhaust.
Black accents return with this trim but with a glossy finish. They give a striking look to the roof rack, door handles, grille, and side-view mirrors. For your convenience those mirrors are now heated to melt away ice and feature LED signal indicators.
2019 Ford Explorer Platinum
The final trim is the 2019 Ford Explorer Platinum. It features the same standard 3.5L EcoBoost® engine but adds several amenities. For starters, there are more options for what color you can choose for your leather seats.
A twin-panel moonroof is also available to let some light in or show off your stylish SUV. You're sure to turn heads in this trim with satin chrome finishes on the exterior. You'll also get more visibility on this trim with rain-sensing wipers.
